2021 5.0 engine noise during acceleration

Has anyone else noticed valve train noise when accelerating from around 3k RPM and up?

It sounds like the lifters making noise and is more noticeable when the engine oil is cold and not fully warmed up. I am not pushing a cold engine; the water temperature gauge shows normal operating temperature, but as the oil warms up with harder driving, the noise decreases.

Could this be related to the variable cam timing?

I have always thought that engines are noisier when cold, so I treat them gently while they warm up. I also believe they get noisier as the oil level drops toward the minimum. That’s why I never go 10k miles between oil changes 5k is enough for me.

How many miles have you driven since your last oil change, and what is your oil level?

I don’t know, but mine sounds great when accelerating. The valves just add to the music.

The truck has been making this same noise since I drove it off the lot. It now has 2,800 miles on it and doesn’t use any oil.

Yes, I am referring to that rattling noise coming from the top of the engine around 3200 RPM. I tried turning off cylinder deactivation, but it didn’t change anything. It might just be a normal engine sound. I’ll keep an ear out for it and see if it gets worse. If it’s a real problem, hopefully, it will show up before the warranty ends. It’s annoying but not too concerning since the oil analysis is good.
