AM i going blind?

22 Ford F-150 XL. possess a bed outlet and an interior that are off when not in use.

As long as the engine is functioning, it should activate. The outlet won’t function if the inverter doesn’t get electricity. The alternator powers the inverter.

It is now running. My laptop is plugged in, but it isn’t charging. Might it be a fuse?

See if using a phone charger solves the problem. The inverter fuse can be the cause if not.

As soon as you switch on the truck, it ought to be on. When you switch on the vehicle, does the light flash before shutting off a short while later?

Pull the wiring harness apart while crawling beneath the truck, inspect it for corrosion, and then put it back together, making sure it’s tight. typical problem: the weather causes these plugs to break over time.

If that isn’t the issue, the inverter probably has to be replaced because it has failed.

Without uncertainty. What kind of fuse it may be is indicated in your manual. There could be a relay at play as well.

It didn’t like the last time I tried to plug in a laptop charger in my truck. I used a cell phone charger to make sure the fuse wasn’t the problem, and it functioned well. Additionally, the laptop charger was positioned beneath the outlet.

…The same thing happened to my 22 King Ranch. It transpired that the inverter was defective. It’s on the passenger side of the back seat. Dealer replaced as it was still under warranty.
