Saw this video and had to share. It’s a great showcase of the F-150 Lightning being used to provide power in a real emergency.
I saw that same video at work and thought, ‘Hell yeah, Lightning saves the day!’ But then they showed the devastation, and my jaw dropped.
P.S. I’m also dealing with the aftermath of Helene, won’t have power till Friday midnight. Asheville is just two hours from me.
Seth! He’s huge in Western NC, check out Berm Peak if you haven’t. I’ve ridden his trails plenty of times. What’s happening up there is devastating. We’re down the hill a bit, but still got hit hard by Helene. So many local businesses are just wiped out. Entire neighborhoods, schools, hospitals… all gone. If you can, please donate to the recovery efforts. People in WNC really need the help.
This is probably going to be the new normal. We’ll have another one of these storms next year for sure. It’s no longer a 1 in 1000 event.

Yeah, we have to adapt now. Having a backup solar setup with a battery would be a huge help, especially one you can pack up and take with you to use somewhere else if needed.
Yeah, Seth’s well-known for his mountain biking content, but did you know he used to do videos about car audio on YouTube back in the day? He’s been around for a while!
Before any storm, I always make sure to charge my Lightning and keep my Silky Katanaboy in the truck for emergencies. You should definitely look it up, it’s a great tool to have on hand.
Why doesn’t he just backfeed his whole house through the generator outlet?
