Anybody try taping over the backup beeper?

I honestly don’t mind the backup beeper. The frunk beep feels unnecessary but isn’t a big deal to me.

I don’t think the tones are a problem. They’re there for safety. If you mess with them, you might end up legally responsible if there’s an accident.

At least unplugging the frunk beeper doesn’t give an error.

I just unplugged it. The truck complains every time I start it, but I just ignore it.

Take out the frunk speaker—that thing is so annoying. But leave the backup beeper. It’s important and illegal to remove.

Do you think Ford gets these beepers from different suppliers? Maybe that’s why some are louder than others.

It’s a safety feature to let pedestrians know the vehicle is moving. I get why people might want an off switch, but it’s really not that bad.

Unless you’re driving in reverse all day, just leave it as is.

All hybrids and EVs made after 2020 have to make some noise when backing up. Maybe just get used to it or turn up your music.

Most people don’t think it’s loud. What made you think that?

The complaints from folks who’ve removed it.

A small group of people complain about everything. Why focus on this?

@Ripley
Putting tape over it seemed like a simple solution.

A pointless solution to a non-issue. It just makes your car less safe.

How often are you in reverse for this to be such a problem? I get the frunk beep, but the reverse chime seems necessary.

It’s every day for me, going to and from work.

Man up. One gear forward, one gear backward. It’s not that big a deal.

If you remove it and hit someone, your insurance might deny the claim because you tampered with the car.

And you could get reported for breaking the law.

Who’s actually complaining about this?
