Anyone else notice the Ford Pro Charger isn’t hitting max speed?

At 240V, it sounds like you’re pulling about 42 amps.

A lot of home chargers are only rated for 40 amps. I’ve seen some hardwired ones that can go up to 50 amps though.

The Ford Charge Station Pro can do up to 80 amps.

@Lyle
Yeah, but the Standard Range battery and newer models can’t use the full 80 amps. That’s probably why they’re basically giving those chargers away now.

I have a ChargePoint Home Flex on a 60-amp circuit, and I get the full 48 amps (11.5 kW).

Look at the truck’s screen while it’s charging. It shows the amps being pulled. Mine pulls about 46 amps and gives me 10.4 kW on a 50-amp charger.

I think only the 2024 models show that info. My 2022 Lariat doesn’t, and neither does my coworker’s 2023 Lariat.

@Dara
Maybe it was added in an update?

Could’ve been 10.1.1 lol.

You should be able to get closer to 16 kW. Check the dial inside the charger—it might be set too low.

I feel you, man. I bought the 80-amp charger too, but it only does about 10 kW max. They really need to stop advertising it as an 80-amp charger.

It is 80 amps if your vehicle can actually handle that much.
