Is there any kind of extension cord we can use for Tesla chargers? I’m about to buy a Lightning and was wondering if we can park either way to make it easier.
Newer chargers are being built with longer cables to fit more vehicles.

@River
They’re also working on retrofitting older stations with longer cables.

I haven’t had any issues with my adapter.

Extensions aren’t common because the cables are liquid-cooled. Newer stations are better designed for spacing, though.
@Westley
Actually, A2Z recently released an extension. Let’s see how it holds up.

Mine had some issues, but A2Z replaced it for free. They’re a solid company.
@Qi
The older Tesla chargers weren’t liquid-cooled. I wonder how they managed it without huge wires.
Try parking with a trailer attached—it’s a nightmare.
The cables are so short, it makes it hard to use them.

They’re short to prevent tampering and were designed for Teslas, not every EV. Back then, there wasn’t enough demand to justify better designs.
Are all superchargers compatible with the adapters? I saw some marked ‘Tesla only’ on PlugShare.

Download the Tesla app and link your Lightning to it. That way, you’ll only see chargers you can use.
As a former Tesla owner and current Lightning driver, I think Tesla should’ve planned better for varying charge port locations. I try not to take up more than two spaces when charging, but sometimes it’s unavoidable.
I’m posting a video tomorrow explaining everything about charging a Lightning at Tesla stations. It’ll be on my channel linked to my profile.
