Anyone understand the updated EV Coach for the 2025 PowerBoost?

I just got a 2025 PowerBoost and noticed the EV Coach graphics seem different from what I’ve seen in older videos. Mine shows a grey bar for hybrid, a blue bar for electric, and green for charging. The bar stretches left and right, but I can’t figure out how it shows when the electric charge is running out. Nothing in the manual explains it. Anyone know what’s going on with this updated display?

There’s usually a blue box over the grey bar that shows how much power you can use before the engine kicks in. The box shrinks as the battery runs low, so you’ll get less power before switching to hybrid. Same goes for regen—there’s a green box for braking. If you press harder than the box shows, you’re using regular brakes.

Also, there’s an Eco Coach that’s different from the EV Coach. Eco Coach is a circle, but I don’t find it as useful.

@Dacey
I don’t see any blue or green boxes on my 2025—just one big box with a horizontal bar. There’s nothing in the manual explaining the graphics either.

It’s tricky to explain without visuals, but I’ve got a 2024 PowerBoost, and there’s a thin white bar under the blue one for electric mode. If the blue bar goes past the white one, it switches to hybrid (gas + electric). When braking, the green bar shows some lines on the sides. If you brake too hard, it goes past those lines, and the green turns grey. For max efficiency, keep the pressure below the grey areas.

@Cameron
Thanks for the breakdown! I’ll watch for that on my next drive.

What you’re describing sounds exactly like my EV Coach setup. Are you looking for something specific that isn’t showing up?

If you want to see battery capacity, you’d need an OBD2 reader. Ford’s focus with the PowerBoost seems more about replacing diesel engines than going fully electric.

That’s an interesting point. Do you think Ford might bring PowerBoost tech to their F-250s or F-350s?

Good question. I’ve got a 2024 PowerBoost, and I’m still figuring it out too. I haven’t found anything that clearly breaks down battery capacity, how charging works, or how much hybrid power is used. Following to see if anyone has more info.
