Apple Maps EV Routing… Back for Anyone Else?

Just got in my truck, opened Apple Maps, and boom—got the option to connect it again. Works like it used to!

I wonder if this glitch means Apple and Ford are tweaking things to let us precondition in CarPlay without needing to set it manually. :crossed_fingers:

Man, I hope so. Preconditioning and proper NACS routing would make Apple Maps so much better for Lightning and Mach-E owners.

@Hollis
100%! Apple Maps is already my go-to, but adding those would make it perfect.

Wait… so does the Lightning precondition if you use the built-in nav?

@Darby
Yep.

That changes everything. Thanks! I swear I read the manual but totally missed this.

Nice! Just checked and it’s back for me too.

I’ve never been able to get this to work. Do I need to enable something first?

You might need an update on your truck. Do you know what software version you’re on?

I’m on 101.1.1.

I’ve got a ‘23 XLT just like you, but it just doesn’t seem to work.

@Nori
Weird… mine worked even before that update. Maybe try restarting everything?

Lately, I’ve been getting warnings that my battery estimate might be wrong when using Apple Maps. Maybe something changed in the last iPhone update?

Not a fan of how it replaces the ‘time left’ display with battery percentage. I liked seeing both.
