Hey all! I’m looking at getting a ‘23 Platinum and want to set up a home charger. I’ve got plenty of space in my panel box, so I’m open to all options. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
Emporia is a solid choice.

Agreed. Love my Emporia with the Lightning.

I went with the Emporia too. Easy setup, and the app is pretty decent.

One more plus for Emporia: it integrates with their Power Vue system for monitoring, which is great if you want detailed energy data. Also works with Home Assistant if you’re into that.

Another vote for Emporia. The app is reliable, and I haven’t had any issues.
I recommend the Grizzl-E. It’s solid and straightforward.
Consider the Tesla Level 2. In a year or so, most automakers will adopt the Tesla plug, so it’ll make charging easier. You can get an adapter for now (about $150) to make it work with CCS cars. The Tesla app is also great for tracking charge history and energy usage if you have multiple EVs.
@Florian
Or you could go for the Tesla Universal Wall Charger, which comes with an adapter, so no extra purchases needed.
Check if your power company offers incentives! Many will give discounts or rebates on EV chargers. I’m in the Pacific Northwest and got $300 off a ChargePoint 40-amp charger. I had the Ford Charge Station Pro but ended up selling it because the ChargePoint works better for both my Ford and Chevy.
@Ari
I’m in Western Canada and got a similar incentive on the ChargePoint. Seems like these deals might be widespread!
If no incentives are swaying your decision, this guy has a great YouTube review on EV chargers. He’s pretty thorough!
If you’re buying a new Platinum, it should come with the Ford Charge Station Pro for free. I’d suggest installing that one.
I use the ChargePoint Flex. Works great, and the support is solid. Plus, I got a rebate from my state and local power company.
