Can I get a 240v outlet added later?

I wasn’t able to find a 2023 Pro model with the 9.6kW Pro Power Onboard option. Is there any way to get it added after purchase? The dealer didn’t think it was possible.

It’s a pretty major job to retrofit. The wiring harnesses aren’t set up for it and would need to be replaced, which means taking apart a good chunk of the truck. You’d probably also need to change the DC-DC converter upstream of the inverter.

@Paxton
Yeah, I kinda thought it’d be a big deal but figured I’d ask just in case.

It’s not as simple as just adding a 240v outlet. You’d need a more powerful inverter than the standard 2.4 kW one that comes with the truck. Technically, it’s possible, but you’d be looking at swapping the inverter, rewiring, and doing some coding with FORScan.

@Jin
Got it, thanks for the info!

Possible? Sure, I think someone has actually done it and posted about it in the forums.

But it’s really impractical and expensive. You’re messing with the high-voltage battery (HVB), and that’s not something to take lightly.

You’d probably need a 7.4kW feed. Ford maxes out at 2.4kW unless you get the 9.6kW Pro Power Onboard.
