I’m thinking about getting a 2024 Flash to replace my Tesla Model Y Performance. The one thing that’s stopping me is the cloth seats. I’ve always had leather in my cars. How does the cloth feel for you guys? Any comfort issues or concerns?
I don’t have any issues with the cloth seats. I actually prefer cloth to leather, so I may be a bit biased. They’re comfortable, easy to care for, and I can clean them easily when my toddler spills something.
I think the cloth seats are fine, but I do plan to eventually swap them for leather. This is something a lot of people with F-150s, especially the Pro or Flash, do. If you search this forum for Katzkin, you’ll find plenty of people who’ve upgraded their seats (including costs).
@Zinn
I’ll be doing the same (with perforated and ventilated leather), and I plan on adding seat heaters to the back seats too.

If you go through with that, please post about it. I’m thinking of doing the same in about a year.

I’m really happy with my Katzkin seats in my 2024 Flash. It cost around $1500, and it only took about 10 days from order to install here in the Bay Area.

How long did the install take? Was it done in one day?

For those on a tight budget, you can grab take-off Lariat seat covers for a couple hundred bucks on eBay. If you’re feeling brave, you can try the DIY route or have an upholstery shop do it.
I got mine during the supply chain delays and ended up with an XLT for less than what others paid for a Lariat a few months later. There were barely any Lightnings available, and the only dealer near me only had 3: 2 XLTs with cloth and a Platinum with everything I wanted, but it was $95k.
I was hesitant about cloth since I always had leather, but I’ve actually grown to like it. The seats stay cooler than leather in hot weather, especially here in Texas, where I park in the sun a lot. I’ve had my XLT for over a year now, and the cloth seats are still in great shape. They clean up well too.
I used to always have leather too, but after getting the Flash, I was surprised how much I prefer the cloth seats. They’re not really cloth, more like Activex fiber, and they’re durable and easier to clean. I was planning to get Katzkin leather, but I don’t feel the need for it anymore.
@Taj
Same here, I came from a BMW to the '24 Flash, and I was surprised at how nice the cloth seats feel. Like you, I thought I might upgrade later, but I just don’t see the need now.
The cloth seats are okay for me. I got some high-quality seat covers that look and feel like leather. The 2025 Flash will have Active Leather seats, but you’ll lose the power tailgate and a few other features.
@Peyton
What seat covers did you get? I’m looking for something decent but not too expensive, like Katzkin.
Do the cloth seats have heating?

Yes, the Flash has heated cloth seats.

They’re heated but not ventilated.

I never use ventilated seats, honestly. With tinted windows, the seats don’t get that hot for me.
@Fane
I run hot, so I love the ventilation, but my girlfriend probably won’t use it much.
I’ve had both Lariat and Flash in my family, and I’ll be honest. The leather seats look nicer, but the cloth seats are more comfortable. I only wish for leather for the ventilation in the summer and memory settings. If you don’t need those features, the Flash’s cloth seats are very comfortable and cost less.
