Oh good… so most of us will see that update probably in 2026 or so based on the OTA rollouts so far /s

Same here…I seem to get these updates about a year after they’re reported!

Came here from the Mach-E sub – looks like the same delayed experience for both models. Disappointing.

So Google Maps will now precondition the battery. That’s a huge win.

Only on Android Auto, it seems . Finally had to switch to Apple Maps.

Does this Google Maps integration only apply to larger screens (Lariat and up)? I have an XLT, but maps seem unchanged – am I missing something?

It comes with the 10.x updates.

It would be nice if this worked on CarPlay too…

Already does this on my 23 ER Lariat. Confused by why this is reported as a new feature.

The headline likely refers to Google Maps EV routing, which is new. Apple Maps has done it for a while now, but Google now preconditions the battery, which Apple Maps doesn’t.

Am I correct that this already works with Apple Maps? Just not the preconditioning part?

Correct. Apple Maps shows arrival SoC but doesn’t precondition or show Tesla chargers. I submitted a feature request to Apple after a road trip – it was rerouting to EA and EVgo stations when Tesla Superchargers were on my path.

Apple Maps and Ford Nav aren’t reliable for routing – Apple Maps routed me 70km out of my way to charge when I had 80% battery for a 20km trip. PlugShare with Google Maps is still the best combo for accuracy.

Things should improve once Tesla’s system is the standard.

Agreed. This headline feels funny when my first EV was a 2018 Model 3.

Only certain customers who received adapters got that notice.
