Ford F150 Lightning Using Tesla Supercharger... Thoughts?

Saw a Ford F150 Lightning using a Tesla Supercharger at Scott’s Valley through the magic dock. Curious what others think about non-Tesla vehicles using Tesla chargers now?

Wow, finally a charger that works for CCS cars too! That’s kinda surprising.

Haha, right?

If you’ve ever tried using Electrify America’s network, you’d understand how true this is… it’s frustrating. cries

@Joss
Some Tesla haters on EV forums will insist the EA network is flawless too.

Yeah, I’ve heard the same. People claim EA is great just because they had one good experience.

@Charlie
Exactly! You’ll always get someone who says they had a perfect EA trip, so it must be amazing.

Yep, I’ve argued with people like that multiple times.

I’ve used EA a few times too and it’s far from flawless, lol.

It started out great for me too, but now it just sucks.

Once I used EA and I only had to replug my car 3 times—honestly, a miracle.

It’s always something with EA… they need to step up their game.

@Charlie
A lot of them just lump Tesla’s Supercharger network in with other third-party ones because they think it’s all Tesla fanboy hype.

@Charlie
I’ve mostly used EA without issues, but I know others have had nightmares with it. Might be a regional thing. It’s been reliable in the Pacific Northwest, and I even see Teslas charging there sometimes.

I switched from a Tesla to a Lightning, and EA is almost always a hassle. At Superchargers, I’ve only had to move stalls once or twice.

@Joss
Tried using CCS chargers with my Tesla adapter once. The car just stopped charging halfway through. No explanation.

@Joss
I took a friend with an EV to a Supercharger. I plugged in and it started right away, but my friend sat there for 10 minutes trying to get his car to charge.

EA and EVgo should work the same way, but it’s always a hit or miss.

And it’s even funnier because Tesla uses a different standard for their own cars!

Yeah, and it’s super fast too.
