Ford has extended its Power Promise offer through March 31, 2025. Here’s what you can expect:
Anyone who buys or leases a 2024 or 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, or E-Transit will get a complimentary home charger and installation. Plus, Ford’s Power Promise program offers plenty of perks including an 8-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty and 24/7 support. There’s also a BlueOval charge network for easy road trip charging, including Tesla Superchargers. Check out more details in the Ford Power Promise Fact Sheet.

I think so, too! There are a lot of people who, when they post their obligatory “Joined the Club” posts, thank this forum for helping them figure out what a good deal is, answer their questions about Lightning/EV ownership, and more.
It would be interesting if Ford polled new buyers about who or what influenced their decision!
@Willow
I’ve noticed that too. I browse a few other EV forums, and there are way fewer complaints about major issues. Sure, there are a few, but not many.

I was hesitant – wasn’t really a truck person – but after hanging around this forum for a bit, I decided to give it a test drive. Now, I’m a proud owner (though I’m still waiting for the Ford Power Promise to kick in… that’s more of a dealership issue).
@Wade
I’m in the same situation. Ford really needs to train dealerships on how the Power Promise works so they can explain it to buyers and actually follow through. It took me weeks to schedule an installer, and when they showed up, they asked, “So where’s the charger?” I was like, “I thought you were bringing it.” Turns out the dealer forgot to order it.
@Marley
My dealership kept telling me to call Ford. I did, and they sent me back to the dealership. Then the dealership told me to call Ford again. Eventually, I called Ford, explained my frustration, and the guy took charge. He called the dealership and got things moving.
That was December 19. The dealership confirmed on December 24 that they’d put in the order, but Ford was closed for the holidays. So, I’m still waiting for my charging station. I bought the truck on November 29.
FYI: Before you sign any paperwork, get an electrician to check if your home can handle the extra 60-amp circuit. Qmerit will send someone out to assess, and they may say that your installation isn’t standard and won’t be covered by the Ford Promise. If you agree to pay out-of-pocket, make sure you know who’s responsible for what. When you run into issues, you might be bounced between departments. There are three Ford departments involved:
Qmerit Project Manager – Handles project setup, paperwork, and payments.
Electrician (Subcontractor) – In charge of wiring and making sure you have 240V to the charger. They’ll leave once they confirm the charger is getting 240V, even if it’s not working properly.
Ford Motor Company – Responsible for the Ford Pro Charging Station, the Ford Pro app, and connecting your charger to your home Wi-Fi. I had to trip the breaker four times to get the truck to pull 48A.
I’ve sometimes wondered if this forum is secretly full of Ford employees… but honestly, I love how the community shares advice and experiences with each other.
