Did your truck come with the sensors installed for rain detection? I thought the Pro, XLT, and Flash don’t have the necessary sensors.

No, it didn’t. I purchased the sensor months ago and finally got around to installing it. My truck already had the harness because I have the 360 cameras and tow tech package on my '23 Pro.

How hard was the install? I have a ‘24 Flash with the 360 cameras and tow tech, so I assume the harness is there.

At first, I didn’t see the cable—it was tucked into a slot just holding it in place. Once I removed the plastic cover behind the mirror, I just plugged in the sensor, removed the protective plastic, and snapped it into place. Took 30 seconds.

Yeah, that’s the spot. The cover is pretty sturdy, and I found it easier to pull from the headliner side downward rather than prying near the windshield—didn’t want to risk cracking the glass. There are about six clips holding it in place. I used just my fingers, and it popped right off and snapped back on easily.

Isn’t the sensor attached to the windshield itself? If you install it now, won’t it have to be moved when they replace your windshield?

Yep, but when they replace the windshield, they’ll move it instead of me.

I checked this morning, and I do have the hidden cable in that slot! Just ordered the sensor—got the last one in stock. Super excited!

Nope! Just have to set the wiper control to the single drop icon (the auto mode). Sensitivity increases if you move it up toward the faster settings.
Still waiting for rain to confirm it’s working, though. 
Unrelated but similar question—can the trailer sideview cameras activate automatically with turn signals even when not towing? Like how other brands show blind spots?

As far as I know, no, not without tricking the system. Some people have used a bypass device plugged into the 7-pin trailer connector to make the truck think a trailer is attached. That enables side cameras with turn signals, but disables cross-traffic alerts and BLIS.
I’d love this feature for everyday driving, but Ford doesn’t offer it natively.

I think there’s a feedback button in Sync 4 somewhere. Might be worth submitting a request.
