Test drove a ‘24 Platinum PowerBoost today—great deal, so I was excited. But on the highway, I felt a vibration in the gas pedal when accelerating. It wasn’t constant, but it was noticeable.
The salesman let me try a ‘25 model to compare. That one had a slight vibration too, but not as bad.
I didn’t want to spend that much on a truck with an issue right off the bat, so I walked away. Is this normal for the PowerBoost? Anyone else experience this? Or am I overthinking it? Appreciate any insight!
Every single one I test-drove had that feeling. I bought one anyway, figuring I’d get used to it. Funny enough, after a few hundred miles, it actually went away.
There was also a transmission pump sound early on—maybe they’re related. Check my older posts, I talked about this in more detail.
I think it’s just a break-in thing. I’ve got a ‘24 XLT and after a couple thousand miles, it’s been perfect. The only learning curve was figuring out how to avoid that clunky feeling when pulling out of the driveway.
My ‘24 PowerBoost did this since new. Felt like going over mild rumble strips.
I mostly noticed it when lightly accelerating in 9th or 10th gear at low RPM. But once I hit 1,500 miles, it started happening less often and with less intensity. Might just be a break-in thing.
I’ve got a ‘24 PowerBoost, and the vibration was bad enough that I made the sales guy ride with me so I didn’t sound crazy. Even had the mechanics check it, and they said everything was normal.
Now at 3,000 miles, and it’s completely gone. Definitely seems like a break-in thing.
My ‘23 PowerBoost Platinum has the same thing. It got worse after I installed an Eibach leveling kit. Thought I messed something up, but after reading around, it seems like just a characteristic of the truck.
Weird. I’ve got a 2025 XLT PowerBoost and had the same issue. It mostly happened during slight acceleration at 50-60 mph uphill—felt like mild rumble strips. Had a service tech ride with me, and they said it was normal.
Now that I think about it, it hasn’t happened in a while. Could be the break-in period, or maybe it only happens when it’s cold? Not really sure, but I wish there was a clear answer on what causes it.
@Lior
How many miles do you have on your ‘25 now? Also, I’ve been reading up a lot on this truck to see if there are any common issues. This vibration doesn’t seem to be something people talk about much, so hopefully, it’s nothing serious.
