I’ve been checking out trucks for years, thinking I’d have to go with a used one. But with how high prices have been lately, it just never worked out. Ended up replacing my SUV with a new minivan, so for the past two years, we’ve been a two-minivan household. Kept watching, kept waiting—just couldn’t justify it financially, especially after getting the van.
Then I got a new job two years ago and promised myself I’d put my bonus toward a truck. Figured I’d been responsible long enough—it was time to move on from my 2010 Toyota Sienna.
So, how’d I do? Picked up a 2024 STX with running boards and an extended range tank, and I couldn’t be happier! This is what it feels like when patience actually pays off.
That’s all, just wanted to share the excitement. My buddy even joked that I finally get my “man card” back now (shaved the beard a few years ago…).
Congrats! I’ve got a '24 STX, and it’s perfect for me. Didn’t care about fancy seats or a heated steering wheel, but I love the big screen, the extended fuel tank, and the bucket seats. Leather would’ve been nice, but not worth an extra $20k.

Same here! We already have a van with all the luxury stuff. I just wanted good safety features and Apple CarPlay. Heated seats, sunroof, leather… nice to have, but I don’t miss them at all.
The extended fuel tank is a game changer, though. Love the range!

Yeah, it hits the sweet spot for me. I wasn’t sure about the lime green vent accents, but mine came with black ones, which I think will age better. The seat stitching is a nice touch too.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay out the door? I’ve got $20k to put down, but every dealer I’ve talked to is quoting $48-50k, which seems high for an STX.
Depends on the area, but I saw a few 2024 STXs going for $46-47k out the door, including taxes and fees. MSRP was around $54k, but dealers were knocking it down to $42,600 on some models, especially with added features.
