How do I know if my truck has heated mirrors?

I have a 2019 F150 XLT Sport. I’m wondering if my left mirror is heated. I’ve noticed that heated mirrors have a heat wave icon on them, like this. Do I have heated mirrors? If so, are they automatically heated, or is there a button to turn them on?

That icon on your mirror is for the blind spot monitoring system.

So does that mean my truck has blind spot monitoring instead of heated mirrors?

Yeah, from the picture it looks like blind spot monitoring, not heated mirrors.

It depends on your truck’s year. If it’s a 2018 or newer, most of them have heated mirrors by default. They activate when you turn on the rear window defroster.

Your heated mirrors should turn on with the rear defrost. On a cold or humid morning, hit the rear defrost button and see if the condensation clears from the mirrors quickly.

Just turn on the rear defroster. If your truck has heated mirrors, they’ll be connected to that setting.

That’s definitely the blind spot monitoring symbol. Looks like your mirrors aren’t heated. On my truck, the heated mirrors turn on automatically with the defroster.

If your mirrors are heated, you should see a defrost icon etched on the glass somewhere.
