I can’t figure this out and it’s really frustrating. There’s an option to set a one-time charge limit, but aside from that, it always wants to charge to 100%. Am I missing something? Just got a new Lightning here.
Once you charge at a location it should show up in the target charge list in the app. This is where I set mine. Haven’t tried in the actual vehicle.

Good deal, thanks!
I do it through the app!

It won’t let me choose my location though. Someone else said I need to charge twice at one location, waiting to see if that works.
If I leave it plugged in past midnight, does it ignore the settings and charge to 100%? I’ve had that happen on my home charger, but I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong.

You can edit the target charge while it’s charging, either in the app or in the vehicle. After you charge, you can edit the target charge at that location permanently in the app.

Thanks for the reply! That’s the issue—I’d move the slider, and it would stop there on my Level 2 charger, but then when I woke up in the morning, it was fully charged as if it was a new day. I’ve read charging to 100% is bad for most vehicles, so it’s been a bit annoying, haha.
Get ready for some frustration with Ford’s in-vehicle software and the FordPass app. It doesn’t always work the way it should. The basic functions are fine, but when you step outside the usual routine, things get weird. Once you set your home location with your preferred charge times and target, it should work perfectly. But here’s where things go wrong: let’s say you set your preferred charging time to 12 AM - 6 AM and your target to 80%. Then you come home late with a nearly drained battery, and you know you’ll need more than 6 hours to reach 80%. So you go into the app, hit ‘Change Target Charge at Any Time,’ and press ‘Start’ to begin charging now. But when you hit ‘Start,’ the target automatically sets to 100%, and you can’t change it back to 80%. Ford knows this is how the app works and says it’s intentional, but it’s definitely annoying.
You should be able to set a one-time max charge directly in the truck as well. It’s under the charging app. Just set the max charge once, plug in, and after charging, you can set the location in the app. Ford definitely made this more complicated than it should have been (there should be an option to set the max charge at any location).
