How long did it take for you to get used to one-pedal driving?

I’ve been using one-pedal driving for a few days now. It’s a very different experience, and I’m still trying to adjust. Anyone have tips or stories about getting used to it?

I started with a Tesla, and it took me a little while to get comfortable. The hardest part is going back to a regular car after you get used to one-pedal driving. You’ll find yourself wondering, ‘Why isn’t it slowing down on its own?!’

@Harley
I totally get that. I mainly drive in the city, and since I’m driving a big truck, it feels super awkward when I’m trying to park. I look like I’m learning to drive all over again.

Backing up was always an adventure for me too. Sometimes it still is. The difference between giving it a little throttle and suddenly reversing at high speed is no joke!

@Harley
I once switched from my truck to a minivan and almost drove straight into traffic because I forgot how regular brakes worked.

I find it tricky to use when parking, especially feathering the pedal or switching into reverse. Outside of parking, though, I really like it. Adjusting after decades of driving the old way isn’t easy.

@Tate
Yeah, parking is a struggle for me too. The truck’s big, so trying to stop and adjust while moving into tight spaces is a pain.

Make sure you hit the camera button as you park so you can see the overhead view while in drive.

@Charlie
The 360-degree camera has been such a lifesaver for me!

Wish I had that on mine. Cries in Pro. :sob:

@Tate
I wish the one-pedal system would turn off automatically when reversing. That would make parking way easier.

Once you get used to it, you’ll never want to go back.

It took me 15 minutes.

I liked it in my Chevy Bolt but not so much in the Lightning. I feel like coasting with light regen braking works better for me.

I got the hang of it in about 30 minutes.

I liked it on my Tesla, but I’m not a fan of one-pedal driving in the Lightning.

I actually like it better on the Lightning than on the Tesla.

Maybe I should give it another shot. It’s been a while, and I’m sure the software has improved a lot.

It took me about a week or two before it felt natural.

I adjusted in about 40 minutes.
