How low have you gone on SOC and power?

This is the lowest I’ve ever dared to push it. Curious to know if anyone’s been braver—or crazier!

This photo is the literal definition of range anxiety.

Hit 0 miles and 0 power. Had to push it 30 feet to the charging station. Not fun.

It’s happened a few more times, but turning the truck off and back on usually gives me a bit of juice to crawl to a charger. Life in rural Kansas with an EV is… an adventure. Still haven’t needed a tow truck though!

Pushing an EV that size? Respect. How was that workout?

When you completely drain the battery like that, does it charge back up normally after plugging it in?

@Luca
Not always. I had soldiers drain our GSA Lightning completely, and afterward, it never charged past 122 miles of range. Learned that the hard way.

I got down to 9%, but honestly, I start sweating if it drops below 10%.

Hit 0% about 4 km from home, cruising at 40–50 kph. Made it to my charger, but I definitely should’ve turned off the heat sooner. It was -5°C, though!

Legendary. That’s cutting it too close for me.

I could never. My anxiety would have me pulling over and throwing up long before that.

Drove 150 miles home from the dealership the day I bought it. Left at 88% and got home at 17%. The next two days, I was under 10% while gathering supplies to install my home charger. Talk about a stressful start!

@Vern
That sounds rough. Did it make you regret the purchase?

Not at all. It cured my range anxiety fast. Now that my adapter arrived, I feel unstoppable. Plus, the Lightning Forum has been an amazing resource for learning the ins and outs of the truck.

0% club here. Got stranded between Bakersfield and Las Vegas. The tow company had no idea where I was, even though I gave them the mile marker. What a mess.

As cold as it’s been, I lose 2% just driving a short distance. My lowest was 21%, though. No way I’m risking anything lower.

Older model? My 2024 barely loses range in the cold. Even in 10°F weather, it’s still pretty reliable.

@Lennox
2023 XLT. Maybe it’s just me being overly cautious.

I’ve never gone below 20%. Too much stress for me.

Lowest I’ve gone is 6%.
