Hi everyone, I’ve been thinking about getting an electric truck for a while now, and I think I found one that’s the right mix of what I want and what I can afford. I went to a Ford dealership and they offered me a Lightning Lariat for $59.8k, which is a big drop from the MSRP of $79.9k. This includes a $5k trade-in.
Is this a good deal or should I be worried that Ford is pushing these trucks out the door so quickly? Looking for some advice from those who’ve been around the block.
I don’t think you should worry at all. These trucks are amazing! I bought mine a few months ago and haven’t looked back. I’ve owned a lot of cars, including a 2019 Chevy Silverado LTZ and a Lexus RC 350. But when I tried the Lightning, I knew it was the right choice. I use BlueCruise on the highway all the time, and the auto-parking feature is a game changer. Even my friend with a Tesla said he wished he had bought the Lightning after he tried mine. That’s pretty high praise!

All these deals are making me mad. I just spent $68k on a Lariat last month…
That sounds about right. I got mine for just over $62k with an X-Plan discount. It’s been an awesome truck and has saved me nearly $1,000 in just a few months.
That’s an incredible deal. Ford made some bad predictions on EV truck demand, so they’re trying to move them fast. It’s more of a business mistake than a product issue—these trucks are fantastic.

Thanks for the info! I almost went for one a month ago, but we decided to wait. With the federal rebate possibly disappearing next year, we might go ahead now. It sounds like you got a great deal!
