Picked this up from a friend for $18k. It has 95k miles and a bunch of maintenance records. Recently had new pads and rotors (front and back), battery, air filter, plugs, upper control arms, and headlight bulbs. Also has a Borla catback. Planning to do a transmission fluid change soon since I’ve heard good things about the 6-speed. Anything I should keep an eye on with this model? Any mod ideas?
Not against the Raptor grille, had one on my 2015 for a while, but I’d swap it out. Wheel well liners are a cheap upgrade that look good and help keep junk off the underbody.

Good call, thanks for the suggestion!
$18k?? Where do you live?
Is it a salvage title? XLT? 4x4?
Here in Utah, a 2017 for that price would have 170k+ miles.

Man, that’s wild. Just grabbed my ‘19 loaded Lariat with 98k miles for $24k.
@Lex
Guess I’m heading to Florida for my next truck…
I just paid $30k out the door for my 2017 Lariat with 71k miles. (Got pics on my profile)

Clean title, XL trim, 4x4.

That’s solid, congrats!
I actually like the grille, but to each their own.
@Kit
Appreciate it!
Looks like those tires are telling you it’s time for shocks and suspension work. Then new tires, obviously.

I’ll check that out, thanks for the heads-up!
That thing looks mean… nice pickup!

You got yourself a solid truck.
5.0 V8 with a 6-speed and aluminum body. No oil consumption issues, no start/stop nonsense, no turbo headaches, and I’m guessing no Sony stereo (only matters if you’re into audio upgrades like I am).
I’d do a brake and diff fluid change along with the transmission service. Fresh oil change too, and just keep up with maintenance.
If it has a sunroof, check the drain to avoid leaks. Also, the bottom of the doors have a drain—sometimes they clog up, so keep an eye on that.
Mods are all about personal preference. I’m not big on that grille, but if you like it, roll with it.
I’d undercoat it if you live somewhere with rough winters. Does it have a spray-in bed liner? That’s a great upgrade if not.
@Skylar
Really appreciate the advice. A spray-in bed liner is on my to-do list for sure.
@Skylar
Just some good old forum talk.

Man, the only thing you ever post about on this forum is, uh… let’s just say, ‘not trucks.’ And yeah, we can all see that, buddy.
Kinda honored you took a break to comment here.
I’d just do a drain and fill on the transmission. Higher mileage transmissions don’t always respond well to full flushes—sometimes the old particles actually help with friction and keep it from slipping.
Might be worth looking into before committing to a full flush.
@Charlie
Yeah, I actually meant a drain and fill—appreciate the insight though!
