Keep the A2Z Pro or the Ford adapter?

Got my adapter in the mail and now I have two Supercharger adapters. Any data on which one is “better”? I’ve used the A2Z twice, and it worked great.

I have both, but I’m sticking with the Ford adapter. If something goes wrong, I’d rather be using the official one.

I’d keep the Ford charger since both Ford and Tesla officially support it. If something ever happens, there’s no question that I was using the right adapter.

This is probably the best take.

Same boat here. Ordered the A2Z, and then my Ford adapter randomly showed up a couple of days before it. Left the A2Z in the box and have just been using the Ford—no issues so far.

What’s the process for the Ford adapter? Do you plug it into the truck first and then attach the Supercharger, or the other way around?

@Neo
I plug it into the charger cable first, then into the truck. Haven’t tried doing it the other way, but I doubt it matters.

Not a Ford owner, but I always plug the adapter into the car first. Probably doesn’t make a difference ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@Neo
Here’s a video showing how to plug in and activate the charger. Also compares A2Z vs. Ford’s official adapter:

And another video with a step-by-step guide from AutoBuyersGuide:

Keep one in the cab and the other in the frunk as a backup.

I’m keeping both in my truck. I tend to leave stuff behind, so better safe than sorry.

Kept the A2Z—it just felt better built. :joy:

Disagree. Mine is ridiculously hard to remove. Almost had to leave it behind once.

Same. I’ve had to watch a YouTube tutorial every time I try to unplug it. At this point, I’ve probably pissed off a bunch of Tesla owners waiting for a charger while I struggle with it for 10 minutes.

Just bought a second EV, so now I have one for each. Problem solved.

Kept the Ford and gave the A2Z to my mother-in-law.

Same here. Kept the Ford adapter and gave my A2Z to my mom since her EV now has Tesla Supercharger access.

ITT: Mother-in-law giveaways.

Mine doesn’t drive an EV, so I think I’ll just sell the Ford one. A2Z has worked fine so far, and I rarely need Tesla charging.

A2Z feels better in the hand, but the Ford adapter says “Ford” on it. I’ll keep the Ford one with the Lightning and use the A2Z with my other EV.

Keeping both. Petty theft is a problem in some parts of Austin, and my first DC adapter got stolen. Keeping the A2Z as a spare just in case it happens again.
