So, I’m an iOS user with a Ford Lightning and I’ve been trying to stick to only charging at NACS superchargers. But with no NACS routing in Apple Maps for CarPlay and no signs of Ford and Apple fixing that anytime soon, I’m considering a workaround. I’m thinking of getting an Android phone on T-Mobile digits so I can share my number and have the option of using either iOS or Android. I’d use it for driving only and run BlueBubble for iMessage. It feels frustrating to resort to this just for decent EV routing. Am I totally off-base here?
Seems like you’re just creating more problems for yourself. Why go through all that hassle? Can’t be that bad to use ABRP and hope for the best.
Why not just use an Android phone in the truck with Wi-Fi? That way you can hot spot your phone.
Android phones have some cool options. Maybe it’s worth a short trial.
Using ABRP is an option, but honestly, I find it can get a bit chaotic. I plug my route into Ford’s navigation after planning with ABRP.
What about trying ABRP with a different app? You might want to consider alternatives before doubling down on two phones.
You can still run Google Maps on iOS; it should act the same as on Android, right?
Ford’s adding Apple Maps EV routing soon. Maybe hold off on those drastic measures for now.
Waze can be good for EV routing too!
I got a cheap Android phone just to handle maps and music. Works like a charm, even without a plan.
