New tariffs coming… how will it affect resale value?

With oil and gas tariffs supposedly kicking in on February 18, what do you think this will do to resale values? These trucks already fluctuate a lot month to month. I’d assume prices might go up, but what do you all think?

If you’re stressing over EV resale value, you’re in for a rough ride.

Want an actual return on investment? Look at real estate, index funds, or even Pokémon cards. :joy:

Not stressing, just something I like to keep an eye on from time to time.

I wouldn’t get too excited about it.

Just enjoy driving your truck!

It would be nice if resale value went up, but I plan to keep my 2024 for a long time, so it doesn’t really matter.

Honestly, I just love this truck way more than my last one.

Same here. But it’s still nice to know values aren’t tanking.

If gas prices keep climbing, I’ll just keep smirking at people complaining about fuel costs.

‘Oh, is that what gas is going for nowadays?’

EV smugness level: increasing. :smirk:

The F-150 Lightning is about 38% US-sourced. If the rest comes from Canada and Mexico (and assuming parts don’t cross the border multiple times), prices could jump around 16%. I’d expect Ford to slow production if they think it’ll be harder to sell.

That said, a lot of stuff will be getting more expensive, so even if your truck’s value goes up, it might not mean much if everything else costs more too.

@Finley
Still better than not having a Lightning at all and dealing with inflation on everything. :sweat_smile:

I’ve been hoping to grab a used Lariat ER once they drop to around $40K, but now I’m wondering if I’ll have to rethink that. :thinking:

Car parts just jumped 25% in price. That’s gonna sting.
