New Truck Day… What's the Deal?

2024 Flash with Max Tow and 9.6 Pro Power. Drove home 4 hours from the dealership in a snowstorm and it was so solid. Loving it already, fits in the garage nice and snug. Y’all wanna give me some ideas on mods?

Also, I’m so stoked to do truck stuff now! So much space! I have a BED! The frunk is huge! Plenty of room for fun!!!

I got my '24 Flash early December, and we went out of town for Christmas. I put everything I could in the cab, and on the drive out, started grumbling to my wife that there was stuff in the bed (with a tonneau cover) that I didn’t have tiedowns for, so it’s just rolling around back there. She goes “was the frunk full?”

I totally forgot about the empty frunk and how I could have easily put everything there haha

The frunk is amazing. I will admit that. fits the groceries very well, and my golf clubs with plenty of room. no bending shafts squeezing in the driver anymore.

@Jensen

Out of context, that’s great.

The frunk is great in my view. It makes the truck a better family car that can still do truck things.

@Oli
As a construction worker I’m happy to have a safe place to put my valuable tools that doesn’t take up the back seat.

I can charge them too, how is the frunk not everywhere for trucks??

all fun and games until you find out that 90% of truck stuff is helping friends run errands/do chores lmao.

I did what you did, look at the paragon bed covers. I’m about to order one and they are awesome, also fitcamx for the dash cam front and back

atleast yours fits, I’d have to move my entire garage to get mine in even as close as yours. I just park it in the driveway and let the wife(can’t get those expensive boots/shoes snowy) and my motorcycle have the garage.

@Jensen
I just kinda kiss the bumper up to the workbench and then I know I’m good. Kinda like a tennis ball hung from the ceiling but it’s a workbench.

a whole lot more expensive to smash some Milwaukees than a tennis ball. once it warms up here in Michigan it won’t be a big deal at all, at least I know why all my neighbors have their nice trucks sitting out front now, isn’t just to show off.

The garage I parked my car in before used docking buoys to protect the cars from hitting anything. This could work with some work here too probably

There are 5 mods I suggest.

A windshield bug deflector

Mud flaps/splash guards

FitX forward and reverse dash cam

Weathertech/Husky floor liners

Radiator guard/screen

The FitX dash cam looks like a factory install on my Flash.

Also, order some retainer clips for the mud flaps/splash guards. It makes the install easy.

@Mai
Yeah, I used the no drill weather tech flaps. A bit of a hassle to pull out the old clips but they’ve held up so far. $160 for a ridged plastic set

It came with factory all weather floor mats! I’ll check out the other mods you said, thanks.

@SherryJune2
What are these, mods for ants? I got you, friend.

I got the OBD2 dongle to USB to connect my laptop to the truck via FORScan. This lets you mess with Ford’s settings to add or unlock hidden features.

Yesterday I unlocked the “Glare-free headlights” to block light into oncoming traffic. In my test last night, I found out it does more than what I thought it would. In the fog, I watched the lights block out a square of light so I wasn’t shining ANY light on the car in front of me, down to the wheels. It’s possible it was doing this the entire time, but I couldn’t see the throw of light without the fog. Before the mod, I have watched the lights freak out up & down on a panel van looking for the window to project under, which it does very well.

My next mod is the rain sensing wipers. You only need $38 (plus shipping/tax) to get an authentic Ford sensor & then you can add it in FORScan like the headlights. If you have a Flash, you should have the 360 camera package, which means you have the wire harness installed. One guy said it worked, I have seen another person on this forum having trouble with this mod, but I can let you know what I find once I install, maybe this week.

I will also be trying global windows up/down (raising or lowering the front windows with key fob.

You can make your heated steering wheel hotter or cooler by default, silence annoying chimes, add power mirrors (hard), so many things.

Understand that if you want to do this, back up your modules, follow the tutorials & only use solid info from the mod community. Most of the info is for the ICE F-150, but it all (maybe) seems to apply to your new favorite EV.

Have fun & let me know if I can help!

@Zee
This is great, thanks! I’m pretty techy and I’ve messed with software through OBD2 ports before so I’m good there. The rain sensor mod, if it’s just the sensor and it plugs in to the existing harness, is high on the list. Appreciate the write up and I’ll holler if I have questions!

@Zee
Haha I commented on the other thread to ask if it worked, didn’t check user names. Let me know if it works!
