Nice little charging time graphic with different chargers

Why with charge station pro and electrify america the extended range charges quicker? Is that because of the amp?

Extended range (on the 2023 and older) charges through dual onboard chargers, it doesn’t in 2024.

lol the pro takes longer on SR is crazy

Makes sense. Smaller stadium(battery) can’t handle that big of an influx of fans (electrons) which makes it slower for them to find a seat (in the cell)

Never had a fast charger take less than hour

Ditto. Fast charging on an EA 350kw charger is typically 25 minutes for me. 30% to 80%.

Wow. I’ve driven several major road trips (each 3,500+ km) and fast charged over 30 times - most charging sessions are 25 to 35 minutes - my longest was 45 min.

Are you charging to >80% on fast chargers or using chargers that cap out at 100 kw?

@Zen
90% the highest kw ice gotten is 90

Unless you need it to reach the next charger, you should do more frequent stops instead of deep charging to 90% all the time. It slows down considerably after 80%.

@Harley
Wasn’t on a road trip or anything just didn’t have a home charger yet

This is pretty low.

The F150’s charge curve is pretty simple. For the ER battery (which I have), I generally get the “boost” for the 8 to 9 minutes at rates around 160 kWh or greater. Then settles down to around 115 kWh to 80% and drops fast after that.

For road tripping charge to 80% and go! (Provided you can make the next charger).

@Zen
Yeah I get nowhere near that even went to a 240kw charger that’s where I got the 90kw at

That’s garbage I don’t know how you guys deal with it?

Depends on driving habits / needs, obviously. I typically use 25–50% charge in a day, so I’m back to 90% every night with time to spare. It’s just not an issue. If you’re routinely driving 200mi+ per day in cold weather and get home too late and leave too early to charge overnight on L2 then it’s not the vehicle for you.

What’s garbage? The fact that I wake up with the equivalent of a full tank every day and have saved about $2k vs gas in 15,000 miles?
