I tried using a regular public charger (6kw) yesterday night and I got this notification. I assumed the chargers were down because I tried each of the chargers there.
Then this morning, I saw a Tesla parked there fully charged. In my mind, ‘yay it’s back up’. I tried to charge, same result like yesterday - not charging. I will try another location this afternoon to see if the problem persists.
I thought I should ask, has anyone faced this? Or is this a software update?
Usually it’s a small issue. Most stations have a customer service number you can call and see if they can troubleshoot on their end. It’s happened to me several times at Electrify America and they usually resolve it by restarting the system.
The only time I’ve had an issue has been heat-related. This occurs both with our home charger, which is a Tesla wall charger, and with ChargePoint chargers on occasion.
With the Tesla, I’ll see the red light at the end of the green charging light progression. It’s still charging but at a reduced rate.
I sometimes get this at home. I just unplug, then plug back in. I think it’s a communications issue. I would try putting those chargers on the list in the truck, if it will let you.
