Roadmaster Active Suspension Feedback

I recently installed the Roadmaster Active Suspension on my 2017 F150 Super Crew and took a trip from Cleveland to Chicago to deliver some furniture. I’m blown away by the difference it made. The ride was incredibly smooth, both when the truck was loaded and when it was empty on the way back it felt like driving a Cadillac. The front and back of the truck moved together seamlessly, and the handling was much smoother, especially around sharp curves. I didn’t feel any push when passing semis, and the truck didn’t sag at all under the load. I had read good things about this product, but it exceeded my expectations. It was worth every penny.

I installed a set on my 2017 F150 4x4 Supercab, and they’re definitely worth it. They eliminated the hopping and sway. They work best with a set of all-terrain tires instead of highway tires.

I just ordered a pair. I’ve been towing a camper for a few years, but now I’m preparing to move my family, so I’ll be loading up the truck and towing the camper for a few thousand miles. Personally, I prefer the Roadmaster solution over airbags. I’ll update this thread once I’ve completed the trip.

I had the RAS on my 2001 Excursion, and it greatly improved drivability and handling. This upgrade is definitely on my shortlist.

I have some in the garage waiting to be installed once the weather warms up before camping season. I was hoping to find a set of factory rear blocks since I’m leveled and the rear is already a bit high. Did you notice any additional height when the truck was unloaded after installing them?

I tried airbags and sumo springs years ago when the supercrews were first introduced, but I didn’t like how any of them felt or performed. The Roadmasters, on the other hand, worked perfectly. I’ve used them on three trucks now and had them in my shop for four months before my new diesel F150 arrived they were the first thing I installed. I tow trailers almost every weekend but drive unloaded for most of the week. They provide great overall balance, and I personally think Ford should install these on all F150s from the factory.

The Roadmaster Active Suspension is installed, and it seems like I regained some of the rake after leveling. During a test drive, the most noticeable change was how it handled speed bumps there’s no bounce now, whereas I used to experience a slight double bounce in the rear. Additionally, when merging onto the highway and accelerating through the cloverleaf turn, there’s noticeably less body roll and improved handling when switching lanes abruptly (intentionally).

I set the measuring disk to the maximum capacity setting of 40% increase, so I’ll see how it performs next Saturday when towing the 12’ enclosed trailer with my son-in-law’s motorcycle. The boat won’t be moved for a few more weeks.
