I put together a small wireless Android Auto setup and wanted to share. It’s been working great for me, and I’d love to know if anyone has tried something similar or has suggestions.

Yeah haha, it’s a bit of a Frankenstein setup, but it’s pretty sleek and works like a short, rigid USB A to C cord. No extra cables hanging around.

I used the AAWireless puck from Amazon. No need for tape or adhesives, and no rattling. Used two different right-angle adapters to get the fit just right. Here are the links to them:

This is awesome! I ordered the USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C right-angle adapters, along with the AAWireless puck and some double-sided tape. Here are the links:

No tape needed. The adapters fit tightly, and the puck rests snugly under the dash without moving around.

That’ll work for now, but be careful. It might put pressure on the port over time. Maybe consider adding some double-sided tape for extra support.
Explain this like I’m 5… what’s the point? I just plug my phone in, and it works. Is there some benefit I’m missing?

It’s mostly about convenience. If I’m just going on a short drive, I don’t need to take my phone out of my pocket. Plus, I can use a faster 12V charger instead of the stock port, which charges my phone much quicker. It’s a nice-to-have but not a must-have.

Yeah, it’s all about not having to plug it in every time. Honestly, wireless Android Auto should be standard by now.

Yeah, that’s about it. This setup looks nice because it keeps things tidy without a bunch of cables everywhere.

Wireless Android Auto and CarPlay have a bit of lag. Wired connections are still better for performance.
