Spotted a 6-wheeled F-150—finally got a pic!

This truck belongs to a fellow tradesman, and I see it all over town—Home Depot, on the road, and today at the waste disposal center, where I finally managed to snap a pic. Always wanted to ask him about it but didn’t want to seem weird… maybe next time!

If someone puts that much money into a custom build, they probably want people to ask about it. Helps justify the cost!

I see a 7th wheel.

Man, you need to double-check your math—I only see four.

Here I am with an F-250 6.7 and an F-350 6.7, and this beast of an F-150 gas truck makes them look weak.

There used to be a tandem-axle 10th-gen in my area for years. It keeps bouncing around between owners—I’ve even seen it pop up on YouTube a few times. Cool concept!

Missouri? DanielJaegerFilms on YouTube has one. He’s in Missouri, though he doesn’t post much anymore. He did a deep dive on that truck—great bodywork where they joined two beds together, but they cheaped out on the driveline. The rear axle just follows along and isn’t powered.

I like his videos when he does upload. The guy knows his stuff.

@Kendall
Yep, that’s him! I saw the truck about two hours from where he lives. I think it just got a new owner recently.

Not sure why, but I kinda want it… nah, maybe not.

I’d have so many questions—does he carry two spares? (Looks like 6-lug wheels up front, 8-lug in the back.) With that crane/lifting device, was the frame modified? Is it on a completely different chassis? Does it have to be registered differently?

Are both rear axles powered? (Looks like there’s a diff housing on the foremost rear axle.) How bad is the tire scrub in tight turns? Does all that extra lighting actually work? Must be a crazy sight at night.

What in the Frankenstein is this thing?

Probably a 2.6…

Looks like it might be an 8-wheeler…

He extended the cab too. At first, I thought it was an '04-'08 model with the small rear doors, but nope—it’s the next gen, which had longer front doors, plus an extra section added.

That cargo door ahead of the bed reminds me of the rare Midbox option they offered around that time.

Gotta ask—why go through all this custom fab work instead of just buying an F-350 dually?

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
