Tailgate assist anyone help

I just installed one today. It took only a few minutes, wasn’t too expensive either. It works pretty well so far. If it stops working down the road, I’ll just replace it. Curious what other people think of theirs.

I love these things! I’ve had them on my last three F150s.

That’s good to hear, thanks for the reassurance!

I’ve had mine for over a year now, still works like the day I installed it. It was only around 20 bucks too, so totally worth it.

Good to know, thanks for the feedback!

One of the first upgrades I did when I got my 2019 truck. No regrets at all.

Yeah, they’re super cheap and really easy to install. I love mine too.

First thing I installed when I got my '16 back in '21. It still works perfectly and it was a breeze to put in.

What kind of weather do you have to deal with? It’s getting cold here, and winters can be harsh. Do you have to lubricate it often?

@Roux
I’m in Southern California, but I spend time in Phoenix and Vegas where it can get over 115°F in summer. I’ve also used it in freezing conditions, and I’ve never had an issue. I don’t lube it, just keep it clean and free of dirt or debris.

@Zane
Good to know, I’ll make sure to keep it clean then. Thanks!

Do you have to close it slowly too?

I just put it in today, but I don’t feel like I’m closing it too slowly. I wasn’t slamming it before either though. I just got the truck like 4 days ago, so I’m still being extra careful. Not much resistance when I lift it back up, if that helps.
