Tesla sent me a Cybertruck deal... No thanks, I'll stick with my Lightning

I don’t get the hype around the Cybertruck, especially if you actually like trucks. I’m fine with my Model 3, but Tesla just doesn’t feel competitive anymore. They used to be the only decent option, but now that other companies are making good EVs, they seem kinda stuck in the past.

@Xander
The Lightning still feels like an F-150, which is great for anyone who’s driven one before. I just can’t deal with the idea of having no buttons and only a center screen.

10k miles a year? Might as well get an Uber subscription at that point. :joy:

For real. When you factor in the down payment, insurance, and monthly payment, you could probably get around just fine with Uber for the same price.

I was an early Cybertruck reservation holder. Thought it was going to be a great deal when they first announced it. Then I saw the final pricing and specs, and nope—ended up getting a Lightning instead. Ford actually delivered what Tesla promised, but Tesla didn’t.

@Tatum
Same here. I reserved two Cybertrucks, one at $40k and one at $50k. Once I saw the real prices, I went straight to Ford instead. So glad I got my refund back.

Same story here. So glad I didn’t go through with it.

If it had a 500-mile range, six seats, and wasn’t full of quality issues, I might have considered it. But I’m happy I went with the Lightning.

Ford didn’t overpromise, but they still delivered something better than Tesla. The Lightning just makes more sense as a truck.
