I’m considering trading my 2023 XLT for a Lariat. The dealer told me the new rebates come out tomorrow, so they didn’t give me a price today. I guess I’ll have to wait and see what happens.
I’m wondering if I should buy a car now or risk waiting for January’s incentives… Should I go for it today or hold out?

You should’ve bought earlier if you had the chance! From what I’ve seen, things are much worse now. Maybe some better deals will come mid-month, but Ford knows people were getting huge discounts before. They’ll probably try offering less to see if people still bite.
@Nash
I didn’t buy and now I’m regretting it.
Looks like the interest rate dropped to 0 for 60 months, not 72 months, and the rebates went down from $5k to $2k. Haven’t checked the X-Plan discounts, but I’m glad I bought in December.

If that’s true, I’m definitely not trading now . Keep us posted on the X-Plan discounts!

I checked X-Plan. The AZXD rebate is down to $1,000, from the $6,000 it was last year.
@Arlo
That’s tough, that’s a big drop.
According to Ford’s website, the current incentives are:
- $3,000 EV retail bonus cash
- $1,000 AXZD plan bonus customer cash
- $1,000 Ford power promise
- 0% for 60 months
- For Lariat: about $3,000 off MSRP (X-Plan, varies by trim)
- $7,500 EV tax rebate
@Arlo
Looks like I might need to go for the lease transfer I was thinking about instead of getting a new lease.
@Arlo
For someone wanting a Lariat, how do these incentives compare to the end of 2024’s rebates? Is it about the same since Lariat now gets $3k off?

If you want a 2025 Lariat, there are currently no incentives for those. But for the 2024 models, you’re looking at about $15.5k off vs. $10.5k off for 2025.
@Arlo
I’m leaning towards a 2024. I don’t mind waiting for better rebates, but I don’t think that’ll happen soon. I probably missed the best ones at the end of 2024.

They might offer crazy deals on 2024 Lightning models in mid-2025. The 4th quarter of 2025 might have huge incentives too. Keep your X-Plan ready.
@Arlo
That’s a good point. Thanks for the info!
@Arlo
Any news on 2023 models?
No, 2023s were all paid off a while ago.
I ask because a dealer near me won’t discount their 2023s.

For the end of 2024, you could easily get $20k off thanks to the $6k AZXD plan rebate. You’d get even more if you’re a veteran, first responder, or own a Tesla or RAM.
But with X-Plan mostly gone now, dealers will probably offer deep discounts. For reference, I got $19k off MSRP on my 2023 (including a $7k dealer discount).
I need to wait a couple of months before buying a new vehicle. Really hoping the deals work out for the F150 Lariat. If rebates go away, I might have to wait for the EV market to stabilize.
