I’ve got this truck and it’s awesome, but I’m starting to wish I went with the Platinum model. I’m planning to keep it forever, and now I’m second-guessing my choice. Anyone else feel like this?
Why not just get another one?
But seriously, some of the features they’ve taken out of the Platinum make it harder to justify the price jump. For example, the missing smart scale and massage seats are kind of a big deal. What trim are you driving now—Lariat, Pro, XLT, or Flash?
@Haru
I’ve got a Platinum, and mine came with both the smart scale and massaging seats!

It’s a 2024.

Mine is a 2023, and I really miss the massaging seats. I went with the Platinum to avoid any regrets, and honestly, it’s worth it to me—even if it’s just a little more on the payments.
@Haru
I’ve been eyeing the Lightning, but I feel like I’d need the range to match the Silverado or Sierra EV first.

Yeah, the Sierra EV Edition One has that 460-mile range, plus features like all-wheel steering and super cruise. For around $6k more than the Platinum, it’s tempting. And let’s be real, it doesn’t look like an Avalanche, so that’s a bonus.
@Haru
My Flash trim has the smart scale, actually!
I love this truck too! I’ve got a Lariat, and it’s the perfect balance for me. Honestly, I don’t think the Platinum gives you $20k worth of extras compared to the Lariat. Some features like the lay-flat seats don’t matter much to me. The real game-changer for me was upgrading the wheels and tires after the first tire swap. Made a huge difference! Next, I’m planning to upgrade the audio system.
@Jordan
What tires did you go with? I’ve got a Lariat too and might need new tires soon. I’m trying to avoid losing any range though, so it’s tricky.

I went with Toyo Open Country AT2 EV. They cost me about 5% range, but I live in the mountains, so I need proper all-terrain tires. I swapped the wheels too to balance out the added weight.
@Jordan
Totally agree. The Lariat is the sweet spot for me too. Platinum feels overpriced for what you actually get. Flash is good value, and XLT is great as a work truck trim.
Platinum all the way! Worth every penny!

How is it worth it? I don’t have massaging seats, and neither does my 2022. Feels more like a rip-off than added features.

Mine has massaging seats, and I use them every time I charge up. They’re a lifesaver.
@Noor
Did they bring them back? They were gone in 2022.

I guess so? I thought it was standard on all Platinums.

It used to be standard, but in 2022 Ford made it an extra $300 option. Then they removed it because of supply chain issues and just refunded $300. I bought the Platinum specifically for those seats, so it felt like a slap in the face.
@Iman
That’s rough. I’d be mad too. It’s definitely one of the reasons I went with the Platinum.
