Turn Signal Trouble on My 1987 F150 Lariat 5.8 HO 4x4... Any Tips?

Hey folks, having a bit of an issue with my turn signals on my 1987 F150 Lariat. Hazards work fine, but the turn signals just went out again. Last time this happened, I took it to a shop and they said it was a quick fix – just swapped out a relay and a fuse. They didn’t tell me which fuse it was, and none of mine look burnt now. I changed the relay myself, but still no luck with the turn signals.

Anyone got any ideas? Appreciate any help!

You actually use turn signals? :joy: Kidding! Check if there’s a second relay. One’s for hazards, and the other is for the turn signals.

Could be an issue with the turn signal switch or lever itself. Sometimes the internals on these older trucks wear down over time. Had to replace some copper connectors in mine recently.

Makes sense, thanks for the idea! I’ll take a closer look at the lever and switch parts.

Honestly, with a truck that good-looking, signals are almost just for decoration. Everyone’s already staring at it!

Haha, I appreciate it! Might end up taking it to the old Ford truck forums to see if anyone there has some ideas too.

@Aki
No worries, man. Beautiful truck, by the way. Hope you get it sorted soon!

You might wanna check if it’s the lever or turn signal switch assembly. Had a similar issue with my wiper knob – had to mess with the copper connectors to get it working again.

Just wanted to say – that’s a beautiful truck! Good luck with the signals.
