I’m curious about what customizations people have done to their Lightning using Forscan or any upgrades you’ve done elsewhere. What mods have you made to your truck? I’ve changed the wheels and tires, added a tonneau cover, automatic step sides, and a mini antenna. I also upgraded the sound with Infinity speakers—huge difference from stock. Looking for more big upgrades.
- Glare-free headlights.
- Disabled the vehicle power down timer, so the truck stays on by default and doesn’t shut off after 30 minutes.
- Removed the black bar that says ‘full view not available’ when you pull up the rear camera while moving.
- Extended the cigarette 12v outlet to stay powered for 1 hour.
- Disabled the instrument panel and infotainment boot-up splash screen.
- Turned off the door ajar chime.
- Disabled the key-in-ignition chime.
@Skylar
I really need to disable the shutdown timer.

Do you know if there’s a way to keep the USB powered for a set amount of time?

I’m not sure about the USB outlets, but you can make the cigarette outlets stay powered on without turning off.

Is there any way to upload a custom splash screen?

No. Forscan only lets you turn things on or off or change their values. It doesn’t let you upload files.

Does it feel responsive?

Why did you choose the longer blinker count?
@Reagan
Some of us take lane changes a bit slower than others.

Fair enough, just curious. How’s BC 1.4?

I get my OBD adapter on Saturday. Hope to make some changes soon after.

It’s amazing.

Do you know the default brightness setting for the light bar? That and the blinkers are the only things I’d use Forscan for.
@Andi
10% is the default. There’s no noticeable difference between 10% and 100%.
@Andi
I’m not sure, but 90% is enough to notice it on overcast days. On bright, sunny days, you won’t see the light bar at all.

Can you explain the glare-free headlights a bit more?
@Linden
They’re also called matrix headlights. The headlights are on high beams all the time, but if the truck detects a car ahead or an incoming car from the other lane, it will dim only that part of the headlights so the vehicle won’t get blinded. It creates a pocket of low beams that follow the other car.
There are some videos here that show how it works. It’s great for night driving.
