What customizations have you made to your Lightning using Forscan?

@Jagger
That’s strange. My new 24 Lightning already has that feature, and I’m in the US. I noticed it on dark backroads in the northeast. It’s really cool to see in action when an oncoming car is coming.

@Addison
That’s odd. My 24 Flash had auto high beams but no glare-free until I enabled it with Forscan. Do you have the green headlight icon?

I think so, but isn’t the green headlight icon standard for all vehicles? I’m away from the truck for a week but will check when I get back.

@Addison
The green auto icon means glare-free. If you have that stock, maybe you got a truck programmed for the Canadian market?

I thought it was just auto high beams. Mine is green but doesn’t have the matrix effect.

@Jagger
I’ll look it up, thanks! Why doesn’t that come standard from the factory? I just ordered an OBD device to change it, and Forscan is the software, right?

It’s standard in other countries like Canada because their laws allow it. Unfortunately, the US still has some catching up to do.

Yes, Forscan is the software. It’s free to download, and you can get a free 2-month license. Just buy the recommended OBD cable and watch some videos.

Disabled the seat belt chime—tow too much around the yard to listen to that. Enabled glare-free headlights. Did a lot of other changes while I was in Forscan. Had to reset a few times because I kept disabling the steering wheel controls by accident. No idea which setting was causing that. Ha, it’s fun to mess around in there, but you’ve got to be careful because you can mess things up, or so I’m told. It’s easy to revert back to stock settings, though.

Has anyone figured out how to turn off the Frunk speaker with Forscan? I’ve seen posts about taking apart the front end and unplugging it, but there’s got to be a way to do it with Forscan.

I needed Forscan to program my trailer brake controller.

For a 24 model? Or for an earlier year?

I have a 23, not sure if it’s different for the 24. It wasn’t hard to install or program.

Does using Forscan void the warranty?

They would need to prove it caused any issues, but it’s easy to revert everything back to stock, as long as you back up the modules before making changes. I also have a spreadsheet with before-and-after values.

Did you make a backup before every mod?

Yes, and I also did a few resets along the way, which can be really helpful if something breaks or goes wrong.
