What does this vent do anyway?

Saw this vent and I have no idea what it’s for. Anyone know?

According to the wiring diagram, it’s labeled as C2247… it’s the in-vehicle temperature and humidity sensor.

Got it! Thanks, man.

I’ve heard it’s where the cabin temperature sensor is located for climate control. Can anyone confirm?

Yep, that’s right!

That’s the in-vehicle temperature and humidity sensor.

I thought it was for some kind of speaker chime, but maybe I’m wrong.

It’s only there for cars with upgraded climate control. Otherwise, Ford would need to make a bunch of different versions, and nobody really notices this vent anyway.

The automatic climate control uses that sensor behind the vent to regulate the temperature and humidity.

It’s actually for air sampling, so the HVAC system knows how to adjust to keep the temperature steady.

Just for ventilation, maybe?

Mine has a little fan that spins when the key’s on. I thought it was to cool the gauges, but I guess not!

Pretty sure it’s the cabin temperature sensor.

I thought it was where the door chime sound came from… guess I was wrong!

It’s the cabin temperature sensor. On my F150, if it’s cold, the heater kicks on by itself even with the climate control off.

I noticed some debris in there while looking with a flashlight. Need to clean it out! I always wondered what it was for too.

It’s why the AC randomly blasts at full speed… super noticeable in the Houston humidity!

It’s for holding coins, right?

I mean, maybe? How many coins have you put in yours?
