Found my wiring harness all torn up like this. Not sure if it’s from rubbing or something else. Looking for some help to figure out what each color wire goes to.
That’s all the wiring going to the back of the truck: signals, lights, fuel pump, defrost, trailer plugs, you name it. You’ll need to grab some wire, heat shrink, and solder, then start cutting and replacing. Honestly, it looks like mice chewed it up.
@Hux
Really? I thought it might’ve just been from rubbing. I’m planning to fix it myself, just trying to learn along the way. Thanks for the info.

Think about everything in the back that needs power. You can check the items directly, like tail lights, trailer plugs, etc., and see what color wires are connected to them. Write down the colors, including stripes, and you’ll have a guide for most of the wires.
@Aki
I had to double-check that this was this forum. Usually, these kinds of questions get snarky replies, but you’re getting some solid answers here! Honestly, this F150 group is one of the few places where people are genuinely helpful. It’s pretty rare on forums these days.
@Parker
I hear you! Just last Friday, my 2015 2.7L threw a fuel pump code and I had to get it towed to the dealer. Always something, man.
That’s definitely rodent damage, man. I searched for wiring diagrams and found a bunch of good ones. You might want to start there… but first, get rid of the rodent!

Yep, zoom in and you can see the bite marks. Those little jerks. Good luck with the repair, you caught it just in time!
Good luck! I’ve found the F150 community isn’t always great for technical info. You might want to buy a service manual because I haven’t found much online, even for older models. Sometimes you can find bootleg copies on eBay.
Looks like a rat problem to me.
Those wires are green and corroded. You’ll need to get that section replaced. If you know what you’re doing, it’s not a tough job. If not, better to pay someone. Shouldn’t cost much.
You serious?

Yeah, just hoping to find the right wiring diagram from someone who knows more than me.

You’re better off going to an electrical shop. Messing around here might make things worse. Stop being cheap!
@Anne
Sounds like someone’s got a case of skill issues!
What do you mean? All the wires look grey to me.
Looks like something chewed on those wires.
Well, all those wires lead to one thing… a Ford
I’m guessing this is why my reverse camera and defroster stopped working. A bunch of other wires are worn too, but I have no idea what they’re for. I’ve been looking at wiring diagrams, but still feeling pretty lost. Anyone know what I should focus on or which diagram is best?
