Would you buy an F150 with a replaced engine?

Dude, you’ve got bigger problems than this truck. :triangular_flag_on_post::triangular_flag_on_post::triangular_flag_on_post:

Exactly. If his engine skills aren’t what your wife likes, then what else is keeping him around? :grimacing:

Yeah, man. Divorce is expensive. Don’t let it get to that point.

What does your wife’s current boyfriend think of it? :laughing:

He probably doesn’t like it because he’s got an Explorer he’s trying to sell.

You’ve got a lot of nerve, buddy.

I get you really want a truck, but listen to the people here: Do NOT buy this.

This is a bad move, man.

If it were a new engine, I’d be okay with it. But no way I’m buying a truck with a higher-mileage used engine. The guy clearly went with the cheapest option.

If he’s cheaping out on the engine, he’s cutting corners everywhere else.

@Davin
Exactly.

This whole situation is a red flag. I can’t believe you’re even considering it.

Especially with that last sentence about the ex. :joy:

At the very least, if you’re going to swap engines, get one with similar mileage. The guy was definitely strapped for cash and picked the cheapest route.

New doesn’t always mean better. I’ve replaced plenty of engines, and sometimes used ones with good history are just as reliable.

Even if it wasn’t a sketchy truck, I wouldn’t want to buy anything from my wife’s ex. Talk about awkward.

Awkward for her too… especially if she’s had ‘memories’ in the back seat of that truck.

@Keller
That’s probably why she’s pushing OP to buy it. :joy:

And if the truck breaks down, that’ll cause even more tension between you and your wife. Don’t set yourself up for that.
