2021 F150 Powerboost shifting into park when in drive

I have a serious and dangerous problem with my F-150 Powerboost that the dealership can’t fix. When it’s raining, the truck displays error messages and malfunctions. Most alarmingly, it randomly shifts into park while driving, which has happened multiple times in various driving conditions. This is extremely dangerous and has been witnessed by both me and a dealership technician. I love my truck but am terrified to drive it. I’m hoping someone from Ford can help.

Have you or the dealership inspected the wiring connected to and around the driver’s door? It’s possible that the truck is mistakenly thinking the door is open, which could be causing the problems you’re experiencing.

The issue only happens when it’s wet outside? Is it lightly damp or after heavy rain? It sounds like something might be unplugged or short-circuiting due to water exposure.

The problem occurs both during and after rainfall. I’ve already proposed that water might be causing the issue, but unfortunately, it hasn’t helped.

Are there any leaks causing water to accumulate on the truck’s floors? If not, I still think there might be a loose connection somewhere that’s getting wet.

I’m certain there are no leaks inside the truck, and there’s no damp or moldy smell.

I am guessing the battery might be leaking and corroding the connection to the electric motor. That happened to mine. The technician seemed unsure as he explained it, almost like he was convincing himself too, but they eventually figured it out.
