Got my 2024 F-150 yesterday, and the parking sensors are already acting up. They randomly detect something in front and then completely shut off. The front left sensor seems to do it the most, but it’s also happened with the rear sensors. Planning to take it back to the dealer on Monday, but I’m curious if anyone else here has had this issue. Is this a big fix or just something simple like a reset or recalibration?
Could it be because of the weather? Snow and ice usually mess with the sensors on mine.

Maybe, but I made sure to clean them off really well, and they were still acting up. Just weird. This is gonna be the dealer’s problem to sort out.
@Riley
They’ll probably blame the snow and ice anyway. Even if it’s something else, that’ll be their go-to excuse. It could be another issue, but with both front and rear sensors acting up, I’d still bet on the weather. Crazy how this hasn’t been solved after all these years.
Snow and ice always set mine off too. After a car wash and freezing temps, they go haywire.

Even if you clean them completely?

Yeah, even then. A tiny bit of moisture can freeze and cause problems. My dealer said there’s nothing they can do about it.
@Piper
Once it melts, the sensors work fine again, like nothing ever happened.
@Piper
That’s good to know. Appreciate the insight. Hopefully, that’s all it is.
Snow seems to mess them up a lot. These sensors don’t like cold weather at all.
My 2022 does the same thing when it’s below freezing, especially if it’s been warm, and water got into the sensors before freezing again. Had the same issue with my previous truck, so I think it’s just how these sensors are.
I always learn to park without relying on sensors. It’s good to have them, but when they fail, you’ll still be confident in parking.
I had similar issues with my 2017. If it was wet or after a car wash followed by freezing weather, the sensors acted up. I fixed it by unplugging the sensor connectors, blowing them out, and adding some dielectric grease before reconnecting them. Worked fine for years, and when it started happening again this winter, I did the same thing, and it’s been fine since. Might be worth a shot.
My 2024 F-150 sensors go off constantly and give me error warnings whenever I stop. It’s so frustrating. My old 2017 Explorer had perfect sensors, but these just hate bad weather. I’m in Canada, so they freeze up a lot. Honestly feels like the quality has gone downhill. The dealership didn’t seem to care when I brought it up.
Mine have been acting up ever since it rained and then got cold. I’ve got a 2022.
I have a 2023, and it’s my last Ford ever. I’ve been a loyal Ford customer for 30 years with multiple F-150s, but the last two have been terrible. So many issues, and the dealer never fixes them. Not sure what I’ll buy next, but it won’t be a Ford.
