Unless you absolutely struggle to park a full-size truck, there is little reason to choose a midsize option. Midsize trucks offer minimal fuel economy advantage, have significantly less hauling and towing capacity, and can even cost as much as a well-equipped F-150. Personally, I would rather have the functionality of a base F-150 than a more luxurious midsize truck.
There are not many available, but I saw a few at the dealer when I was picking up parts recently.
I have realized that the size and space of the F150 have spoiled me. Iโve downsized before and regretted it, so please remind me not to downsize again.
We are seriously thinking about switching our work Fleet to Rangers. Right now, we buy STX models without any extras, and those F150s now cost $53k. An XLT High Ranger with the same 2.7 engine and tech package is $46k. Our F150s donโt tow, and the '24 Ranger, being a bit bigger, is nicer and drives smoother than the previous generation.
