I’m struggling to find much information online or in forums about good tires for my truck. I mainly drive on blacktop but do hit some dirt roads now and then. I’ve regularly gone over 130 with the stock Hankooks, but I don’t fully trust them, so I ease off the gas. Also, I’ve had multiple nails in both sets of Hankooks. I’m hoping switching to 8-ply tires instead of the 6-ply might help. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated!
8-ply tires won’t stop nails. They will give you a higher weight capacity but at the cost of a rougher ride.

I get that they won’t stop a nail directly, but I still feel like they might offer a little more resistance.
@Luca
A nail’s a nail. Unless you’re running solid tires, you’re still at risk for punctures.
An 8-ply tire won’t be any more resistant to nails than a 6-ply one.

I know, it’s not exactly bulletproof. Just hoping for a bit more durability.
