Thinking about upgrading my 2023 XLT to a Lariat… Should I wait for tomorrow’s rebates?

It will be interesting to see what happens. I saw internal documents last month saying the Lightnings might no longer qualify for the $7,500 point-of-sale credit, but I could be wrong.

Nope, that’s been updated. They still qualify for the $7,500 credit.

@Arlo
That’s great news, good to know!

Yeah, Ford first announced that the Lightning would lose the credit, but two days later, they corrected it after the IRS confirmed it. The correction didn’t get much attention though.

I bought my Lightning on Monday and got the $7,500 point-of-sale credit. Took a 48-month 0% loan instead of paying cash.

Based on the site linked by the IRS, the $7,500 federal rebate still applies to the Lightning in 2025.

That’s awesome. I almost bought one in December, but with a baby on the way, I didn’t want to rush the decision. Hopefully, more good deals come up soon.
