Traded my Tesla Model Y for a Lightning… did I make the right call?

Were those deals recently or a while back? I haven’t seen anything good on 2023s lately.

A few months ago. I haven’t seen many 2023s around my area recently.

Yeah, all the good deals went away once the 0% APR came in. I ran the numbers, and even though some people got great deals on 2023s with regular rates, my total cost is still lower with the 0% financing.

I picked up a 2023 Lariat SR last month, and I’m also wondering if I got a good deal. I’ve seen some amazing deals out there, but at least I know I got the best one I could find in my area (CT/MA). We don’t qualify for the tax credit, but I found the right truck that they were looking to get rid of. There’s always that feeling that I could’ve done better, but I’m happy with the truck so far.

How’s the transition been so far? I’m considering doing the same.

I’ve only had it for a few days, but I’m enjoying it so far. I thought I’d miss the tech from Tesla more, but CarPlay has helped with that. I do miss Sentry Mode, though, and I’m waiting for the dash cam I ordered to arrive.

Not having a phone key with the Flash trim has been an adjustment… I have to carry around a key fob again. But the driving experience is great. It actually feels smoother than any other truck I’ve driven, and my Model Y LR AWD wasn’t as quick from 0-60.

The real question is, how do you feel about the deal? That’s what matters.

Trading in isn’t worth it if you’re worried about losing money. You’ll probably lose around 40% of the value easily.
