Thinking about putting a turbo on my 2017 F150 5.0 V8. Will this mess with how it drives every day? Looking for advice!
Any time you modify your engine for more speed, it’s likely going to impact daily drivability. Ford Performance offers a supercharger kit for that engine, and your local Ford dealer can handle the PCM reprogramming. The supercharger will give you better power and drivability compared to a turbo.

So you’d recommend a supercharger over a turbo? And should a Ford dealer do the install?

Yes, for your truck a supercharger would be better. Ford has a bolt-on kit for the newer F150s, and your 2017 isn’t that different from the 2021 models. A turbo would require a lot more custom work and tuning. If you’re confident, you could install the kit yourself and just take it to the dealer for the PCM reprogramming afterward.

Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it
Look for the Roush F150 supercharger kit, since yours is a 2017.

Would that work for a 2018 F150 Lariat too?
