It looks awesome. Thanks for explaining the proper way and why it matters. This forum should be about learning, not just ‘how’s this deal look?’ posts all day.

Yeah, I’ve done a lot with lowering Lightnings. I started small with spring compression in the back for a 2-inch drop. It worked but made the rake worse. Lowering more meant I had to replace OEM parts since the suspension geometry can’t handle it.
I ended up investing in the ICON lowering kit, which came with a camber adjustment kit (a must-have). After some trial and error, I found the best settings for both looks and comfort. Now it’s lowered, still has minimal rake, rides well, and I can adjust the shocks with an app.

It’s just the holiday season. So many deals and people eager to buy. This will pass soon.
Not a fan of lowered trucks, but this one looks cool!

I’ve lowered a truck this much before, and I promise you it rides horribly. Think high heels—looks good but miserable to use. Plus, his stock suspension won’t last.
@Tenny
Was the lowering for looks or efficiency? What made you do it?

Couple of reasons
- I absolutely hate how much the stock truck rakes. It looks like it was kicked in the ass
- the Lightning historically is a sport truck and although it can be used as a truck, is more appropriate to be lower, faster, and handle better in the corners. Most people use full-size trucks for transportation and light hauling anyway.
- as an electric vehicle, it should never be lifted and should be closer to the ground to reduce under air turbulence and increase efficiency.
So, for all those reasons, I lowered it enough to look lowered and fast and good, handle extremely well, while still being able to do truck stuff.
@Tenny
I disagree with lowering trucks, but it’s your money and your choice. Honestly, if you don’t plan to use it like a truck, why not get an SUV or a crossover?
The rake helps maintain handling when the bed is loaded. If you want cornering performance, wouldn’t a car be better? A sporty EV would make more sense.
The best part of a lifted Lightning is having a big truck without the big gas bill. Spending all that money to make it something it’s not seems odd to me.
@Ridley
It handles better, gets better efficiency (I’m averaging 2.4 now, about 10% better), and still has the same towing and payload capacity since the kit meets OEM specs.
Not everyone does heavy towing or hauling every day. Ford’s data shows 90% of truck owners use them for under 1,000 lbs hauling and less than 4,000 lbs towing. Trucks are often for daily drives, camping, road trips, and family use.
Most Lightning buyers are new to trucks. For me, it’s the best utility vehicle: big, efficient, and practical while being fun to drive. It’s better now than stock.
@Tenny
Not reading all that, but enjoy your truck. I wasn’t trying to trash it; it’s just not for me.

Ah, you’re the type who likes to squawk and fly away. Got it.

Haha, not taking truck lessons from someone on this forum. I’m just here to pass time. Enjoy your truck, but I’m done here. Have a good one.
Edit: You edited your angry reply to seem chill. Classic.
Looks like someone is in their feelings over trucks. Let’s keep it chill, folks.
This truck looks amazing!
Ignoring the functionality issues, those wheels and stance are clean. Style over function!

Appreciate it.
Why mess with the handling, anti-roll, and put the battery closer to the ground? This is just asking for damage. If you want to lower something, get a Chevy or an Escalade. Trucks shouldn’t be treated this way.
@Kai
Lowering can be done, but it has to be done right. This way isn’t it, and it will lead to suspension failure fast.
